The Luke Jansen Sound Stage
at Savour Strathcona
The Luke Jansen Sound Stage is about celebrating the joy of song, how this community lifts up and furthers the careers of artists in the area. This means if you join us as a performer or as an audience member, we hope you find yourself at a dynamic, welcoming place for music. This is a local space for singer-songwriters like our son Luke.

"It is because of Luke that we now have such an amazing line up of local musicians here today.
One of his self-imposed first tasks when he started organizing Savour was to elevate the musical components of the event."

The back story
How did Luke come to be connected to the musical vibrancy of Savour Strathcona?
It all began when Luke had the joy of working with Strathcona County as a municipal employee in three blocks of time. He worked two 4-month summer positions for Economic Development (2015 and 2016), and he worked for Legislative and Legal Services from April to October 2017 as a municipal election assistant. His professional music talents, and his undergraduate university degree with a major in political science and a minor in economics came in very handy.

Part of Luke's role as an Economic Development and Tourism summer student was to coordinate Savour Strathcona, which in 2015 and 2016 ran in July. It was there he grew the event in general, and in particular the role of music in the success of the event.
